Why did we build this?
TurinPool creates liquid markets to effortlessly tokenize company's equity, letting shareholders to make cash-outs and attracting new investors to these companies through cash-in operations.
We aimed to build Crypto Decentralized Pools that would allow holders of tokenized company shares the possibility to swap them for stable cryptocurrencies (like L-USDT), allowing them to build liquidity from their shares whenever they wanted.
Initial Utility
The initial MVP was the creation of a DeFi (decentralized Finances) Pool with a pair of L-USDT and Turin Tokens (Turinlabs tokenized company shares).
After the pool for TurinLabs token holders proved successful we'd’ scale and replicate for other companies.
Product Goals
Create DeFi Pools for tokenized Company shares
Give liquidity to those shares
Financial Freedom
A model that could be easily replicated

Research & Interviews
The initial research included understanding how different descentralized finances pools work, to understand common patterns and possible pain points in this type of products.
Competitive Audit
Competitive audit included both direct as well as indirect competitors. I tried to recognize mental models that crypto DeFi users have and to establish common design patterns they expect. I went through flows, and screens of different crypto DeFi products noting existing solutions to problems our product might face. I analized exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, Gemini and Kraken among others as well as Pools and swap apps such as Uniswap, SushiSwap, Pancake, Kebab, etc
Interviews
At the beginning of the journey, I had to interview our experts in the company as well as company's external advisors to understand better our audience, technologies and goals and align all the team and stakeholders expectations.

User Stories & Flows
The company had already a pool of users and stakeholders from other products they had developed. Our first approach was to try to identify common traits between those users to generate ideas for personas. I choose a diverse pool from our existing audience to reate realistic personas.
Stories
After the initial research and establishing the main audience, we went on to the proccess of creating the first stories, that would serve both the design and development team. And that would help the Product Owner to establish the Road Map and guidance for future team members.
Flows
After main flows were defined, special attention was put to the sign up process. Being this a financial / investing product I had to create an easy to follow flow for the legal requirement for "Anti Money Laundry" and "Know your customer" forms that could later also be used as a template and implemented to all of the company's products.

Wireframing
Information Architecture
Defining the information structure at the beginning was a challenge as we were not sure if we would follow a Crypto Exchange structure or a Decentralised Finances pool structure pattern. We moved forwards with the standar structure of most popular Descentralized finances pools.
Sketches & Digital Wireframes
First sketches were done in pen and paper, before getting even to the Low-fidelity prototypes.

Sketches & Digital Wireframes
As with almost every project, first sketches were done in pen and paper, and then black and white low fidelity.

HD Prototyping
Our biggest mistake during the project was the wrong definition of the Low-Fidelity prototypes which led to an erroneous structure in the High-Fidelity prototypes.
After a meeting with the Product Owner and a Senior Developer we redefined the product's main flows and we found solutions that would lead us to the current product screens and state.
The second iteration for the HI-FI prototype was more satisfactory and became the guide for the future UI and design of the App.

Testing & Feedback
Surveys & Unmoderated Tests
For testing the general feel about the product I did some 5 seconds testing as well as unmoderated surveys, and first impressions tests, testing both Landing Page and the app. I also did some click-through tests for getting heat maps and information and see if main actions were correctly interpreted by users. This types of testings wede done for both LO-FI as well as Hi-FI prototypes and wireframes.
Usability / Moderated Tests
More precise moderated usability testing were carried out once the HI-FI prototypes were done. Current company's clients as well as Spanish crypto users offered right away to test the new product when we posted the announce in our community.

The corporate image, along with the logo came as a consequence of the design of a parent brand (Turinlabs) that would host an ecosystem of inter related products. In this context I designed the main brand + 5 products logos and visual identity basics.

User Interface
Research for common patterns and structures included both direct as well as indirect competitors. In regards of visual design, I tried to recognize mental models that crypto users have and to establish common design patterns they expect from their use of Defi Pools and Cryptocurrency exchanges. I found specially useful as inspiration, dashboards from crypto exchanges as well as the super simplified home screens from Descentralized finances pools. I took special care in analyzing how competitors manage the transactions screens and was careful of informing the user at all times in which stage of the process he was.

Palette
The gold color would stand for the wealth while the chosen sober green color would mean trust and could also be associated to money. We built a palette consisting of the following colors categories: main, accent1, accent2, grays, danger, pass(green), warning(orange), danger(red). We had 10 shades for each color anticipating the freedom of use for developers and the possible styling libraries that would be used by them
